Greg Stones

I have spent my life reading and loving books, so here is a list of titles by authors who I admire, have been influenced by, and have even befriended here and there.  Enjoy.

Jory John started with illustrated humor books like mine, but has now successfully transitioned into really great kids books.
Avery Monsen and Jory John created four of the funniest books the planet has ever seen.  Though I doubt it will ever happen, I aspire to one day match their comedic genius.

Matt Tavares was one year behind me at Bates College, and got picked up by a publisher right after he graduated.  His illustrations are ridiculously detailed and beautiful, and on top of all that, he is the nicest guy you will ever meet.
Jeffrey Brown basically invented the genre of funny Star Wars books.  He was also a huge guiding force in helping me tackle my own Star Wars book, and I will forever be grateful for all his advice.
Jon Klassen is just brilliant.  End of story.
When I was in high school, Bill Watterson made me want to become a cartoonist.  I read Calvin & Hobbes every day in the newspaper, and I read all the books so many times that they began to fall apart.  Pure genius.

Scientific fact: The Far Side is hilarious.  Gary Larson definitely helped to sculpt my sense of humor growing up.
You know how sometimes in life the idea of something is so much better than the actuality of it?  Mo Willems perfectly captures that with this book.
